Illetve azt, hogy az apja miért nem játszik többé fontos szerepet a történetében. 
És hogy ez a hiány tulajdonképpen mit is jelent.
Hol vannak a fehér foltok abban a tájban, amit lehet életrajznak, Algériának, vagy Franciaországnak nevezni.
Mennyi kísérletezés és próbálkozás árán találhatunk vissza a gyökereinkhez.

Yasmine Yahiatène szólójában családi történetek elevenednek meg: homevideók, visszaemlékezések, egy lassan bontakozó utazás képei az algériai eredethez. A vetítés és a színpadon születő rajzok meglepő perspektívából nyújtanak betekintést egy összetett személyes kapcsolatba, miközben Yahiatène rákérdez arra, hogy hogyan hat mindezekre a gyarmati Algéria és Franciaország párhuzamos történelme.

Yasmine Yahiatène, (1990) művészeti tanulmányait Tournai-i Képzőművészeti Akadémián végezte videóművészet és a performansz szakirányon. Készített rövidfilmeket és díjnyertes videomapping-projekteket, amelyek során mozgóképeket vetített különböző felületekre köztereken. A La Fracture az első színházi munkája, amely 2022-ben meghívást kapott a fiatal rendezők munkáit bemutató drezdai Fast Forward Fesztiválra, ahol elnyerte az ifjúsági zsűri díját.

A young woman tells a story. 
Hers and her father’s. 
Or rather her story and the role her father plays in it. 
Or, why he doesn’t play much of a role in it anymore. 
And what that means. Where it comes from. What’s missing. Where the gaps are, the blank patches in a landscape, which are called biography or Algeria or France. How many experiments do you have to do, which scenarios do you have to invent to find the path back to your own roots, to re-establish contact, locate a starting point, make amends, for resilience or healing?

In her solo piece, Yasmine Yahiatene shares the stage with a video screen and her drawing pencil. She’s the writer, searcher and protagonist in a story that describes a journey to her Algerian and Kabylian roots, to her father’s alcoholism and to the things they might have in common. Her artistic process creates a poetic field on the stage, where it becomes possible to decode an intimate and complex relationship, but also to ask how it was affected by the history of Algeria as a colony of France.

After the second performance Zsófia Molnár, theatre critic, literary translator will be in discussion with Yasmine Yahiatène. Consecutive interpretation: Szilárd Szalmási.

Yasmine Yahiatène, (1990) studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tournai, Belgium, where she specialised in video art and performance. She has produced short films and award-winning video-mapping projects, which involve the projection of moving images onto surfaces in public space. La Fracture is her first theatre piece that was presented at the Fast Forward European Festival for Young Directors in 2022 and won the Youth Jury Award.
