A Scallabouche Színház 10 éve működik Magyarországon Alexis Latham brit színház-rendező és improvizációs színművész irányításával. A Scallabouche Budapest egyetlen alternatív brit színházi társulata. A társulat elsősorban angol nyelvű előadásokat hoz létre, Magyarországon is népszerűsítve az improvizáció, helyzet- és stílusgyakorlatok hagyományát.
Mindannyian mesemondók vagyunk. Mindannyiunknak történetei vannak, olyan történetek, amelyeket el kell mesélni, még akkor is, ha nem is tudunk róluk. Minden este más történet kerül terítékre - nem tudjuk, hogy az esti história hova visz bennünket, de a néző jelenlétének ereje, továbbá minden, amit magával visz, az emlékei, egy-egy tárgy, egy ruhadarab, vagy bármi, amit úgy ítél, hogy lendületet adna a színpadon munkálkodó színészeknek, mind-mind segítenek megtalálni a mesét.
Have you ever wondered what a story is good for? Telling lies?, Creating Myths? Reinventing ourselves? Maybe just a desperate attempt to create a fiction for ourselves so that we can be placed by others. Step inside The Story Room and embark on a journey with Scallabouche...
When we see a young woman walk unsteadily on to the stage our intuition immediately wants to guess at the reasons behind it: tragedy or a broken heart or maybe confusion. Rather than the theatre answering all the questions for you, we want you to step inside the story room and with us together solve the mysteries and make the connections from the images that we create with you. Every night there will be a different story – we don’t know where tonight’s story will lead us but with the power of your presence and everything that you bring with you, your memories, experiences some music, an object, a piece of clothing anything you think might provide an impulse for the actors on stage to develop and create with we will find our story...
